How do I extend my ring tone?
To extend your ringtone all you need to do is type a code into your phone.
The code is: * wait for 3 seconds before continuing * 6 1 * 3 3 3 * wait for 3 seconds * 3 0 # SEND/CALL button
My phone is dropping out where it should not be. Whom do I contact about my coverage issues?
If you are having coverage issues contact three directly on 133 103 and they will be able to perform a coverage check of your area. Occasionally if your coverage is fine, it may be your handset at fault. Unfortunately, if you contact the Mobycom office we will be unable to assist you, as we do not have the technical resources to solve any coverage problems.
I think I have been charged too much on my phone bill, how can I sort this out?
To find out or complain about being charged too much on your phone bill contact three direct on 133 103 and explain your problem. Be clear and about it being an overcharge and then explain where on your bill there may be a mistake. They will look your bill and if you have been overcharged, they will be able to credit the amount owing to your account. If you have gone over your spend something to consider would be to change the current plan you are on (please see question 10).

Times and Business Have Changed

Times and business have changed
With Craig Southam, Mobycom
It wasn’t long ago that geeks started talking about convergence, a concept which sounded like double-dutch to most people. However, with the advent of 3G mobile phones (3G stands for third generation), which allow internet access and other useful features, people are starting to understand what convergence really means. Instead of television being confined to TV sets, we can now view our favourite shows on computers and phones; we can make phone and video calls from computers; we can read newspapers online; and we can navigate from anywhere to anywhere using a mobile phone. All of our information streams are converging. In fact, it goes way beyond that because internet access is getting quicker and most of the information we receive, including television and radio, is now in a digital format, opening up the prospect of transmitting very high quality data such as high definition television.
Since communication is central to almost every business, these changes have dramatically altered the landscape for most small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Keeping up with the pace of this revolution has stressed many businesses but the smartest among them have recognised that it creates the opportunity to compete with much larger companies. Networking, sophisticated database and management systems, on-line and mail order marketing all used to be the exclusive province of big business. Convergence has given SMEs the low cost means to do the same things. It raises the question of what equipment and communications systems modern SME’s need to have to survive and flourish. While people are rapidly beginning to understand that iPhones and their rivals are replacing laptops, there are many lesser-known technologies and applications that can make life easier, cheaper and more productive.
These include facilities like voice over internet protocol (VOIP) technology that can radically cut your phones bills; and computer-based alternatives to expensive telephone PABX systems. I will look at some of these in detail in following columns.
The revolution has a long way to play. You will have heard people talking about 4G mobile phones and “fibre to the node” broadband. As they are introduced over the next few years, our phones and internet connections will typically run at 100 megabytes per second – many times faster than existing broadband and 3G. That will present many more possibilities and we will look at some of those as well.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOUR BUSINESS WHEN YOU’RE NOT THERE?
You have put a lot of effort and personal sacrifice to build and run a business. Delivering goods or services, watching the costs, getting the right connections and the right people in place are keys to success. Your wealth is generated and often locked up in your business.
So what will happen to your business if you or a business partner dies? Or is unable to work anymore?
Without a Business Succession Plan in place it is likely that the business will be severely compromised and even cease to exist despite being a profitable ongoing concern. This is because the share in the business will form part of the estate of the deceased and be distributed via a Will, or even worse in the case of no Will via the intestacy laws.
What does this mean?
It means that the surviving business partner is now in business with their business partners spouse or children.
They may;
1. Demand a payout of a size that will force the business to be sold
2. Insist on direct involvement in the business operations even though they may lack the necessary skills.
The risk is real...
Around 2,500 Australians die each week and no one business, occupation or age group is immune.

What can I do?
Put in place a “Will” for your business, often referred to as a Business Succession Plan.
A formal Business Succession Plan will enable you and your advisers to put in place the necessary legal framework and funding mechanisms to ensure your wishes can be carried out for certain “trigger” events such as death, disablement, retirement, unauthorised long term absence etc...
Many of the “trigger” events will be insurable events that a simple life insurance or disability insurance policy can be put in place for. This insurance policy will provide the necessary funds to facilitate the transfer of ownership to the surviving business partner. The end result, the deceaseds’ family is adequately remunerated for their share of the business and the surviving business partner maintains control over the business to continue trading with minimal disruption.
Seek professional advice
Business Succession Planning can be a complex issue to address that will require the co-operation and skills of a Legal Practitioner, Accountant and Professional Business Insurance Adviser.
Mobysure Director Daniel Knibb, specialises in assisting business owners with their risk management needs.
“We have the necessary skills and experience to assist business owners with their sometimes complex needs. We help them to identify the risks in their business in provide real solutions to their issues. We work closely with their accountants and legal advisers to ensure the best possible outcome for our mutual clients. If they don’t have specialist legal advisers or accountants we can provide them with these services through our extensive network of professional relationships.
The cost of the insurance cover can often be structured to be tax deductible to the business and even if cash flow for the business is tight, alternative funding arrangements can be put in place such as utilising superannuation benefits to pay the premiums.”
